Good morning from New York City where the sun is shining, the streets are freezing and where I, your esteemed correspondent, is laying in her bed, gripping her oat milk latte like it’s a life raft.

Completely high as a kite.
I promise, that wasn’t on the schedule.

It had started well—the perfectly packed short work trip. I was ready.

My life would look, once again, like one of these movies I was dreaming about when I was young—Working Girl, Baby Boom, and, always, Sex & The City. I was here to celebrate a woman and a brand I love, life was a romance, this would all be a part of my come back story, and I would write about it from my bright hotel room overlooking Manhattan.

It almost went as planned. But before I tell you about what happened, let’s pause on something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately: What does it feel like to jump back into your career at fifty?

Here are some impressions.

And a few lessons.

Get ready for some WISDOM.
