Is it one needle or lots of little needles? I’m trying to imagine the pain level…

I’ve been using Aveda Invati for a few years now, as well as taking pumpkin seed oil and every hair supplement under the sun. My hair is more voluminous than it’s ever been my whole life but I don’t know which of these things actually helped 🤔 Aveda is on the boycott list, so I’m using a Korean brand now- fingers crossed it doesn’t all fall out again! 😬🤞

Thanks for sharing, Garance. I truly trust your beauty advice and love reading about your journey and relationship with aesthetic medicine.

I suffered from severe hair loss after the birth of my child, and it was horrific! That’s actually how I found out about PRP treatments for hair loss. I even saw a plastic surgeon to enquire about it, but in the end I didn’t have the courage to go through with it. Eventually, with a lot of patience (and scalp massages 😉), my hair grew back.

But I have to say I’m still very curious about PRP, especially since apparently it can also make your hair thicker. I might give it a try 😉

I'm 46 and dealt with hair loss for a few years. I had thick/a lot of hair to begin with, but still, all these hairs in my brush each day, on my pillow, etc. I started taking biotine - after having my blood tested and my doctor saying there isn't much to do - and really, after 2 months or so, the hair loss stopped. I was advised to not take biotine all year round, so when I finished the bottle I stopped, but the next year the hair loss started again, so I started taking it again. Again: hair loss stopped within 1 or 2 months. I've just finished the bottle and am wondering if I should buy a new one or stop again, but in any case I'll start again as soon as I see lots of hair in my brush!

For generating new hair grow, I'm using a little little hammer with small needles, for tapping on my scalp. It seems to work - even my eyebrows have become thicker (I use it there too)!

Garance, did you have the plasma injected in your eyebrows as well or is that a little too tricky with the extreme hair grow? 😛

Hi Eva interested to know more about your method for eyebrows, would you mind sharing the tool you’re using ? 🙏

It's not that they're suddenly double as heavy, but for sure they're thicker! l used to do it 2, maybe 3 times a week, but I have to catch up, I've been lazy lately ;)

Thanks so much !! I’m gonna give it a try

p.s. this method that you did is DEFINITELY not for me, so I'm glad I found something else that worked 😅

I'm curious about how often you will have to go back after the initial sequence?

I have the same hair issue, drastically changed in the last year. I also never paid attention to them in my younger years, as they were always thick, strong, and even coarse. Everything changes. I need to figure out what to do and how to deal with the problem.

I am older than you (turned 75 a week ago) and always had TONS of hair. Long hair. Then it started feeling thinner and there were hairs ALL OVER THE HOUSE and in the shower. Went to the dermatologist to see what they said…determined not to be related to health issues. She recommended several things, including Rogaine…but I don’t want to put that in my hair daily. So…I bit the bullet and tried Nutrafol. Well…it worked for me. Stopped after 2 years and my hair got thinner again…so I am back on and hair is better. I also only wash it once a week…less fallout!

Hi Garance!

Question about the last live, when will it be available here to watch it, please?

Thank you.

This is great!! I used to work for an orthopedic surgeon and we used PRP for all things but never knew it could be used for hair growth! That’s amazing. I’m in the hair loss stage of newly postpartum and this is a great thing to know if need be. Was is expensive?

Try Weem gummies. They actually work. My hair stylist noticed after six months my hair was thicker. It’s a subscription service. Rated #1

Hair Max Laser. Recommended by my dermatologist. Easy. Pain free. It works.

I noticed my hair thinning at 42 and I'm now 60. I have tried every possible treatment and I do mean everything. Topical Rogaine, several different LED red light devices, Nioxin shampoo and conditioner, rosemary oil, oral biotin. I have had seven PRP treatments and it is hands down the most painful treatment I've experienced.

Ultimately what worked recently was a combination of oral minoxidil and Nutrafol. I do think the PRP treatments helped but I'm not certain to what degree.

Hair loss is so stressful and it takes so long to see improvement.

Hello, I am about to start taking oral Minoxidil after the process of drops failed since I do not apply it on a daily basis. However, the dose will be higher so I wonder whether there will not be hair growth on other, non desired places such as face or arms/legs? Thanks for your feedback!

I am 73 and I have been taking oral Minoxidil for about a year. Luckily, I have no side effects. My colorist says she sees new growth. She alerted me, so I believe her. My eyebrows are thicker but my eyelashes are thinning out, and I do have to be diligent about plucking my "moustache". Ho hum. Not perfect, but I am pleased with the results. I also take NuStrips for Beauty, and they help too.

On another topic. I put collagen in my coffee every morning, then I had to stop drinking coffee, and I noticed that my skin didn't look as good. Could it be the collagen? So now I put some in my yogurt, and my skin looks better. Plumper. Take your collagen ladies.

I’ve been on a GLP somewhere Dore, the potty 1 for about 18 months and that combined with post menopausal hair loss left me with noticeably less hair. I read that the ingredients in GLP1 can cause your follicles to age. I’ve been using Moerie capsules, Weem gummies and Necessaire 30 day scalp oil and my hair has definitely improved. Now it’s hot and humid and all those short new hairs are popping up everywhere and frizzing like crazy. Time for keratin!

When I was 14 I had major hair loss and the dermatologist then gave me vit B12 injections and with tongs dipped a cotton ball in dry ice and patted my scalp with it. Can’t remember how many sessions but not a lot. This was a looong time ago but it worked then.

Hi everyone, re Minoxidil: Please be careful with Minoxidil around pets — even tiny amounts can be extremely toxic, especially to cats. Residue on pillows, hands, hair, or clothing can be enough to cause severe poisoning or death. Keep it completely out of reach, wash hands thoroughly, and avoid pet contact until fully absorbed.
