The Note #3
A Perfect Weekend
Last weekend, I went to the South of France. Just to give you a little bit of context, my mother and her best friend had taken that road trip a few years ago, and their dream was to share it with my sister and me. We didn’t want to spend too much, but still wanted to see the best things around.
Here are three of my favourite spots!
Something to visit
After your perfect night and before your humongous breakfast at the Bastide Du Paradou in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, take the walk up to the church which is nested between two mountains. It’s an absolute must see. I went very early and was alone, and I felt like I was in a mystical movie. The view of the valley is incredible. Consider this your workout for the day.
And you’ll need it, because of what comes next...
Somewhere to eat
...And by that I mean lunch.
On your way to Gordes, stop at the wonderful Bastide de Moustiers. It’s a hotel if you feel a bit fancier than us, but mainly, it’s a gastronomic stop. The decor is fabulously chic and simple and the food is great. Full disclosure (it’s the goal with this guide!), the day we were there, the service was just okay (you could feel that the boss was away) but I’d still highly recommend.
Somewhere to shop
Aaaaah amazing!!! Have you ever heard of L’Isle Sur La Sorgue? This beautiful town that’s the heaven of antiques? Every Sunday, there is a giant market on top of all the more established antiques—that’s the day to go there! I bought this little painting for literally nothing.
For dinner, we went to a great bistro, Au Chineur. I had the aïoli, healthy and lovely and truly so good and who cares about your garlic breath when you're with your family uhuhuh!
There was so much that I wasn't able to put in this short format, and it's a little bit longer than usual because I tried to give you my best. Members of my community can follow the link to find the full guide about the weekend right here! If you want to become one, follow this link!
Sending you loooove and aïoli!!! Kidding, would never that to you. Only my mom ;)
