Peace. Calm. Stillness. Profoundness. Slimlessness. Journalingness.
Self, self, self.

Such is the gift I had gifted myself for the third week of January. I knew, for I had experienced it before, that my time in New Zealand is always as full of joy as it is full of blob (I’ll get back to that later).

Which is why I had found this incredible retreat that was all about being immersed in nature and reconnecting with oneself. From a stunning minimal oakwood-and-travertine type of cabin overlooking forests and cliffs and lakes and birds and just really, overlooking life.

On top of that, after halfheartedly trying to convince Graham to join me, I was pretending to be distraught by the news that he wouldn’t be able to make the trip. I’d have to sacrifice myself and go ON MY OWN. Uuuuh.
Hard to get closer to my idea of a perfect week of heaven.

I was imagining writing you from there, full of expansive new life insights, my repressed guru-self in its full expression.

But then, life got in the way.
