My Makeup

My philosophy is that makeup is not here to hide us but to reveal us—I like my face to look naturally healthy, fresh and happy. I did my own makeup at my wedding because I was terrified of looking like someone else—I also think that, as my face matures (and oh, is it “maturing”) (lol!), it’s more about texture and dewiness than it is about coverage and contouring.

Here are all the things I use daily. The cool thing is that I buy all of my make up now, so these are all tried and tested by me!

3 things I couldn’t do without.

Foundation—The Exa High Fidelity offers a bit more coverage than my usual Laura Mercier which is just a tinted moisturiser, but they’re both fantastic.

Blush—Merit Flush Balm for a nice dewy look.

Powder—Hourglass Veil is fab. This Laura Mercier is perfect as well.

3 things that change everything.

Eye shadow—Mac. The perfect palette! I almost use all of the colours, depending on the look I want (from fresh like a rose to ready for the night).

Brow Pencil—The Benefit ones are great, my favourite makeup artist Tatyana recommended them and she was right.

Mascara—I am lucky in the lash dept, but I do love this one, from Hourglass, very much. I also use a curler when I want to look more sophisticated (rarely!).

3 Things (okay, 4) that finish the look.

Bronzer—I use the Merit Blush Balm in Terracotta as a bronzer!

Gloss—I have millions of them but the best one is from Hourglass. I do love the colour of that Exa one, Seeker in photo—and this Tower 28 is great.

Eye Pencil—Mac Eye Pencil in Coffee. The colour is intense and ideal.

A red lip—OF COURSE! I love La Bouche Rouge and Nars the best.

And voilà! I don’t use concealers or primers and I always make sure I check my makeup in the daylight which is why a make up mirror is so important!!!
