Just a suggestion: Thinning brows on the outer section is a sign of hypothyroidism. Perhaps check out your thyroid, especially if you tend to run a lower than average body temperature.

Never heard this before and I am hypothyroid!

It is in older books. My mother had this symptom so I remember it.

I’ve always thought you have perfect eyebrows, they suit your face. Mine are definitely thinning but more so my bottom eyelashes- I don’t wear much make up but when I do I can longer put mascara on the bottom as it makes them look worse. I will definitely try your recommendation. Thanks

I saw the headline and practically shrieked aloud. You are in my head, lol.

I have always had Brooke Shields-ish brows (people used to try to get me to tweeze them) but I liked them the way they were. And I didn't want to be bothered with tweezing. But now that I am in my mid-50s, they are thinning. A lot. Dear menopause, IS NOTHING SACRED?

So THANK YOU for this post. I love The Ordinary and I am heading to their website as soon as I finish this comment.

Nope. My hair got thinner… and now my beautiful long eyelashes just got shorter!

I've been seeing Kristie Streicher for a decade and a half (long before she and her sisters started Striiike), and she has salvaged my (nearly invisible, over-plucked in the '90's) brows as well as anyone ever could. Her products are awesome--she is all about the health of the skin and hair follicles. The gel has a subtle tint and a bit of growth serum; likewise the pen. Gentle and easy to use, even for anyone (like me) who is makeup illiterate: https://theksandco.com/products/the-complete-nurtured-brow

Your brows look great!! I agree with you on not doing the tattoo brows. My niece had that done and has the stained orange color now too. I am 66 yrs young & I say a little shaping & light color if needed makes the brows perfect. Yours look Great! I am sure Graham agrees!!! 🤗

I’d never have guessed this from your photos Garance. They always look natural to me. You can try organic castor oil on your brows and eyelashes - a little swipe with a tiny bit of oil in the evenings before bed. You have to be consistent but I think it works. X

Ooh. I wouldn’t put even a little bit of oil that close to my eyeballs!

When I found out that the menopause brought with it thinner brows I was incensed… what else? However my niece guided me to MAC eyeshadow and a good brush which looks great and lasts all day. I get my eyebrows threaded once a month and also dyed, it lasts a week and is perfect and in between I tidy up and use the eyeshadow.

TY, good info and advice as I WAS considering tatoo-ing. I'm ordering from The Ordinary.

Ah, Garance, how you tease! Your wonderful brow pencil isn’t apparently available in the U.S. :(

Thanks so much for sharing! I clicked on the Zara link and a man is using it, it’s funny…why not?

I love that you use a brow pencil for the brush as that is exactly what I do as well and have used the same one for years-the pencil itself ran out years ago! I've tried other spoolies, or ones made exclusively to brush the brow but nope. haha Good heads up re. The Ordinary, too! :)

Funny you mentioned the brow serum. I have healthy eyebrows for the most part. But for some reason the tail end of my brows are sparse. I went to a brow specialist over the weekend... she 'laminated' my brows and told me to purchase the same serum you're using. I'd never heard of such a thing. But I'm using it so perhaps I'll have success too.
