This is so true about V-necks versus round necks, and nobody ever says it! I have les boobs, sadly, and spent years believing I could not wear a crew neck because it’s what every magazine tells you. And it’s absolutely the opposite.
Garance, I love that you share your doubts, concerns, and real life. That's what's inspiring—you remind us that everyone copes with bad haricuts and weird menopause issues. Everyone feels lost sometimes with style and even you sometimes feel boring.
I can't aspire to perfection but I can aspire to be more authentic, which is what you are all about, so thank you.
Oh yeah, I have a strict 100% natural fibres policy for all my clothes, drummed into me by my mother all my life. It makes such a difference. I enjoyed the shout out to Scottish sweaters (or as we call them, jumpers) – that’s where I’m from and we do indeed take knitwear extremely seriously!
You are so naturally authentic. You could have any hairstyle and be super elegant and beautiful. No need for any cosmetic procedures, my personal opinion- you just are so gorgeous, that aging will enhance your god given beauty. 💌
I have a sweater fetish....seriously I do! I have over 100 sweaters. Funny, when I was in my 20's and early 30's I wore Red all the time. Now I feel much the same way about wearing red. Why is this? What is this phenomenon of feeling like red is too much or saps energy? I love your sweaters! I have the gorgeous Cobalt Blue Sweater from CO too from years ago. I love Nili Lotan Sweaters as well. I loved seeing your Sweater collection. You are actually VERY GOOD about keeping your Sweater collection reasonable...UNLIKE ME! Any tips on culling sweaters out there? Please feel free to enlighten me. Garance you seem to have a style which is helpful. Me? I see cashmere of any kind and drool. I am ridicules. Also, you do not need Botox and I think no matter what you do with your hair you always look stylish and chic and pretty. In 6 months your hair will be a Bob again...so there is that! Thank you for your Sweater Post! Triple ❤️
Thank you sooo much for the sweaters list… I am a very bad sweater shopper, always ending buying nothing because of Les boobs…. that let me look like a hot air balloon inside all knits !!
This winter I bought a light cashmere crew neck from Aritzia, that I wear all the time. The price was very reasonable and I am really happy with the quality and the fit. I went up a size. The colors are limited. I think bulky knits are fun but they just don't flatter me. They make me look "bulky". I have donated them all to my 30 year old daughter and she looks great in them.
Raglan sleeves are everything and I wish more sweaters (and sweatshirts and T-shirts!) were made with them. They allow for a better range of motion and I find they fit under jackets so much better. And yes to crewnecks too!
Love that YSL bag. I remember you calling it a classic/forever bag. It really is. I regret not buying an old YSL bag, same vintage, with chain strap. The barney’s era. I haven’t really been excited about fashion since. I love your posts/essays though.

Also exactly how I feel about red. Every now and then I try to wear it because it’s apparently “my colour” but I feel like it’s wearing me.
I too, have les Bs, and i used to buy oversized sweaters, which just makes it worse.
Also came across a fascinating article in the Atlantic. I don't have a subscription, so I just pasted the URL from the article (https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2023/10/sweater-clothing-quality-natural-fibers-fast-fashion/675600/) into archive.ph and you get to read the whole thing. (Or you can just type the title in as well).

Garance, I love your haircut. I think it looks great on you!
i absolutely love the haircut too.
I just took my 15 year old Celine luggage tote to leather spa in NYC and they shipped it back to me looking like new 🫰🏼

This is a call to cull my enormous sweater collection and focus on what looks good on me...
Meee tooo! I have a ridiculous sweater fetish! 🙄
