Do you remember when I said that I wanted to update my look because—well, because Paris? Well, I’m starting—ever so slowly.
This was yesterday’s look—I had a day of meetings. I had to look good without looking too eager (ahah, do you know what I mean?)(like, “hire me!!!” but also, “I don’t really need it”)(it’s like dating, in other words), relaxed, but not totally chill.
I went for an easy, super soft sweater with a white tee shirt underneath which is how we wear sweaters now, okay? (OMG, don’t go wearing your V-neck directly on your skin thinking it’s a sexy hint of your decolleté, are you mad?)
BY THE WAY: Emma Chamberlain said that it’s totally forbidden to wear sneakers with no-show socks, and I am really struggling with this, which is why I’m still doing it even though I know it marks my belonging to a very ancient generation.
It’s not that I want to look young, it’s that I don’t want to look completely ringard.
[What’s ringard? Ringard is a French word that means a mix of old-fashioned and ridiculous)(yes, the French have a lot of words to define what’s NOT stylish).]

Ok, back to the program. The goal of the look is soft and easy, but with some tailoring because we’re not in LA (the pants, they’re old—like a lot of my things, but I’m updating!!!—similar here) and a pair of heels because else we’re Bernard Tapie* for a touch of strength and femininity, a hat because my hair is in its three month purgatory that’s cool, and an ancient black bucket bag (it’s not sold anymore, but look at this cute COS one!) because I really need a new bag but all I want is the new Alaïa Le Click and I just bought a house that’s what I had in my closet.
Oh, and here is a close up!!!

I’M READY FOR YOU, PARIS! Almost updated!!! Sorta.
Sending you big kisses!!!

If wearing no-show socks is wrong, then I don’t want to be right. 😂 Sorry to Gen Z, but as a fortysomething woman, I’m confident enough in my own sock choices.
I ADORE your outfit! And every time a Gen Z person says that a style element is "forbidden", I'm even more inspired to wear it :D
