One Dress
Ten Moods

I couldn’t leave this fabulous home with this incredible view without subjecting you to another round of “average looks with a fabulous backdrop.”
I’m kidding—I’m actually quite proud of this little Note today. It reminds me of features in magazines such as “1 dress, 10 looks” which I OMG LOVED. They were so genius.
[I was such a good audience for magazines. Anything they said I would do. Pluck eyebrows, check. Eat only grapefruit for three days, check.]
Anyway. These are still looks straight out of my very paired down suitcase.

This summer, I’ve loved all the Sézane little black dresses. There were enough choice, I think, to flatter any type of body. Mine, as you’ll see on the photos, is rather athletic, with narrow hips and wide shoulders. I have le generous decolleté and I feel more comfortable with a round collar.
I also have quite a round belly right now (I do love bread) which is why if I look like I’m not breathing on some of these photos, it is because I’m not breathing.
[OLS (Old Lady Second)—I need to do something for my décolleté skin. I didn’t protect it from the sun as well as I did my face, and it’s starting to show. But I’m scared of lasers, so this is going to have to be My Next Beauty Investigation.]

I specifically loved that dress (similar here) because it’s stretchy enough to, like, hold my body together (ahahah!!!)(if I remove the dress I’m a puddle) and the little sleeves are chic. Oh and the length. And the slit!!! Perfect, amirite?
So here are 4 looks (I didn’t get to 10) today, with just one dress. One look is Sporty Spice but make it minimal and 90s (?!!)(the stories I tell myself about my own outfits are off the charts), the other one Nancy Myers in the Hamptons (wtf), one is G trying to be sexy because she gave in to the HEELED FLIP FLOP trend (three years ago I was completely denigrating the whole thing),

and the last one is whatever was left at the bottom of the suitcase—but you know, the bottom of my suitcase is a good bottom.

We have now officially left this beautiful spot, and we’re in Balagne, (to me, the most beautiful region in Corsica,) where I’ve completely and entirely given up on my Moroccan salad. Everyone hates me, but at least I’m able to send you updates!
That’s the genius of becoming an asshole recentering oneself!
Love you!!!
PS: Thank you for all your book recommendations last week!!! I’m so excited to read.
PPS: we’re having a live next week, with a subject this time, it’s going to be about love before and after 50. I’ll share what I’m learning, and if you want to ask me any questions at all, write them in the coms, or send an email at members@garance.world <3
Kisses and happy summer!
In my last Letter, I’m talking about my mental exhaustion and what I’m doing to remedy it. In other words, Garance’s guide to a happy summer!
In my last Note, I shared my summer style.
You can watch our last live here. Our next live will be Wednesday 22nd at 5pm, Paris time—we will take about love before and after 50! Big big kisses !!!!

A few years ago I too discovered (the horror!) that the skin on my décolleté lagged way behind my face and neck in terms of care. I am a side sleeper and it shows. Wrinkles, orange peel pores, uneven skin tone. I made a point of focusing on it daily: chemical peels alternating with retinol, nourishing masks and intense hydration, rigorous sunscreen. I am happy to report that the situation has improved visibly, yet nothing can replace the consistent care over decades I lavished on my face and neck. It’s not just good genes, people…
You look beautiful. And sexy, and I hope, happy energy replenished.
