Recently, I’ve been looking for fashion accessories with a little bit more personality than my The Row or The Row inspired ones, and that’s when Alaïa Le Teckel appeared right in front of my very eyes.
I love this style! I have the one from Coach. It's not as sassy, refined, and expensive looking, but I love it. I have worn it every single day. I have owned different styles, but this one is special and so comfy to wear on my shoulder. I wonder which one you will get, Garance.
As much as I love a great bag, I’m going to plead the case for the actual dog. I have a miniature dappled Dachshund named Dottie Parker (because she steals ink pens) and she brings me more joy than I ever thought possible. ❤️
Usually, I’d go for the original but the styling of the Khaite is more me than the Alaia Teckel or the Christopher E. So the main question of the three which is the most like you or your look for the time period you imagine the price would warrant your using/keeping it?
Christopher Esber feels the most sophisticated and ultimately timeless. In comparison to the Teckel, it seems to embody the Coco Chanel quote “before you leave the house, remove one accessory”. I love something that makes more of a suggestion and this does that while the others feel more specific and therefore easier to tire of.
Go for a walk to the top of your closest maunga (Auckland volcano), enjoy the sunshine and the views then buy the olive trees. You'll be grateful in about 20 years time when you're visiting Morocco - the handbag will be a distant memory!
buy the one you like best ( or none!) - personally I am not a fan of this shape also not very pratical imho- I feel perfect design should be a mix of beauty and ease of use ( thinking Vespa 😅) the same applies to hand bags when I see a Birkin I think it's just soooo right no? but I don't feel the same about this
sausage dog one - maybe you like the dog and getting positively biased?
Buy the Christopher E bag. And use the xtra $$ you would’ve spent on the teckel for other stuff you want. Just my opinion 😉
👌👌👌

I might wait a bit more I am too unsure 😓
Garance! Waitlist the Treckel! The others are chic, but you would pine for the first love, no?!
That said - TWO stiff, long straps - potential for one falling off shoulder constantly, hmmmm, that might be crazy making?
Keep us posted!
XXOO,

Buy an item because you love it and enjoy it, not to sell it one day.

Ahahah I totally hear you!!! 😂❤️

Okay

Now that I look them more… The Alaia more classic/formal, the Khaite is more minimal/casual, the Christopher E seems sporty/architectural somehow.
Least tempted by the Christopher E as from the side it is shaped like a toblerone chocolate box (triangular). It won’t hold as much for me.
I also have a new theory because I went back to try it--the Christopher E. and I think it doesn't work with my proportions!
Get the bag you want Garance. Give yourself a break. It’s not like it is taking the place of you paying for your rent.

I would just get an actual teckel…
😂🤣
Meaning the dog!
Original. Always the original. Its the best design.
Always love your style, but there’s just something ‘off’ about this bag. Take a pass!
I agree!
I think you're right, I'm already almost over it 😅
I’m voting for New Zealand blue pearls!!

Totally agree. There is almost nothing better than an Olive tree and Morocco
🙏
so agree!
Buy the original! I bought a similar looking bag, but I should know better. Ain’t nothing like the real thing, baby!!
